Baked Ziti with Parmesan
This delicious baked ziti dish is made with ziti pasta, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh basil - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 2 cups, shredded
- Marinara sauce - 3 cups
- Ziti pasta - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti pasta, marinara sauce, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving.
