  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, whole wheat flour, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a baking stone or baking sheet in the oven to preheat.
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions.
  8. Shape each portion into a baguette shape by rolling it out into a long, thin loaf.
  9. Transfer the baguettes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or a baguette pan.
  10. Using a sharp knife, make diagonal slashes on the top of each baguette.
  11. Place the baking sheet or baguette pan onto the preheated baking stone or baking sheet in the oven.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the baguettes are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  13. Remove from the oven and let the baguettes cool on a wire rack before serving.
