Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Add the lard and knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. After the dough has risen, knead in the salami and cheese.
  7. Shape the dough into a ring and place it in a greased baking pan.
  8. Let the dough rise for another hour.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Beat one egg and brush it over the top of the dough.
  11. Bake the bread for about 1 hour, or until it's golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  12. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
