Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a blender, puree the sweet corn kernels with the milk and butter until smooth.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the masa harina, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the pureed corn mixture to the masa harina mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Fold in the crumbled queso fresco.
  5. Form the dough into 6 equal-sized balls.
  6. Flatten each ball into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  8. Add the arepas to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve hot with butter or more queso fresco.
