Anelletti al Forno
Anelletti al Forno is a traditional Sicilian pasta dish that's baked to perfection with meat sauce and cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese - 100 grams, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 200 grams, shredded
- Peas - 1 cup
- Tomato sauce - 1 can
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Ground beef - 500 grams
- Anelletti pasta - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the tomato sauce, peas, salt, and pepper to the pan. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the anelletti pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the pasta, meat sauce, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
