  1. Drain the tofu and cut into cubes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Dredge the tofu cubes in cornstarch, shaking off the excess.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown on all sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the dashi, soy sauce, and mirin. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Place the fried tofu in serving bowls. Pour the dashi mixture over the tofu.
  6. Top with the chopped green onions, grated daikon radish, and bonito flakes. Serve immediately.
