Tuscan Pesto

This Tuscan pesto is a flavorful blend of fresh basil, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and olive oil.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic cloves - 2
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Pine nuts - 1/4 cup
  • Fresh basil leaves - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, garlic cloves, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped.
  3. While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto reaches a smooth consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  5. Transfer the pesto to a jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.
  6. Serve the Tuscan pesto with pasta, bread, or as a dip for vegetables.
