Pesto

This classic pesto recipe is made with fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. It's perfect for pasta, sandwiches, or as a dip.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 1/2 cup
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Pine nuts - 1/4 cup
  • Garlic cloves - 2
  • Fresh basil leaves - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
  3. While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto is smooth and well combined.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  5. Transfer the pesto to a jar or container and store in the refrigerator.
  6. Serve with pasta, spread on sandwiches, or use as a dip.
