Turkish Kisir Salad

Kisir is a traditional Turkish salad made with bulgur, tomatoes, herbs, and spices. It is a refreshing and flavorful dish.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Pomegranate molasses - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 3 tablespoons
  • Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Green onions - 4, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, diced
  • Tomatoes - 2 medium, diced
  • Fine bulgur - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Place the bulgur in a large bowl and cover with boiling water. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then drain any excess water.
  2. Add the diced tomatoes, cucumber, green onions, parsley, and mint to the bowl with the bulgur.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, pomegranate molasses, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and toss well to combine.
  5. Let the salad sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve the Turkish Kisir Salad chilled or at room temperature.
