This healthy and flavorful tofu and broccoli stir fry is a quick and easy vegetarian dish.
Ingredients
Black pepper - To taste
Salt - To taste
Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
Water - 2 tablespoons
Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
Vegetable broth - 1/4 cup
Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
Broccoli - 2 cups, florets
Tofu - 1 block, firm or extra firm, cubed
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, vegetable broth, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add tofu cubes to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove tofu from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes, until slightly tender.
Pour the sauce mixture over the broccoli in the skillet and stir well to coat.
Add the cooked tofu back to the skillet and stir fry for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu and broccoli.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve the tofu and broccoli stir fry hot over steamed rice or noodles.
