Tandoori Cornish Hen

This flavorful Tandoori Cornish Hen is marinated in a blend of spices and yogurt, then grilled to perfection.

Ingredients

  • Lime wedges - For serving
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Tandoori masala - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Yogurt - 1 cup
  • Cornish hens - 2

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, tandoori masala, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt. Mix well to make the marinade.
  2. Place the Cornish hens in a large ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the hens, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the Cornish hens from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Brush the hens with vegetable oil.
  5. Grill the hens for about 20-25 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and charred.
  6. Remove the hens from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
