Swiss Chard and Tomato Tart

This delicious Swiss chard and tomato tart is a perfect combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Grated parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Eggs - 3
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Tomatoes - 2 large, sliced
  • Swiss chard - 1 bunch, stems removed and leaves chopped
  • Pie crust - 1, store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Roll out the pie crust and press it into a tart pan. Trim any excess crust.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the Swiss chard to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread the Swiss chard mixture evenly over the pie crust. Arrange the sliced tomatoes on top.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the tomatoes and Swiss chard.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the tart is set and golden brown.
  9. Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
