Swiss Chard and Leek Quiche

This delicious Swiss chard and leek quiche is a perfect combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Gruyere cheese - 1 cup, grated
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Eggs - 4
  • Leeks - 2, white and light green parts only, sliced
  • Swiss chard - 1 bunch, stems removed and leaves chopped
  • Pie crust - 1, store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch (23 cm) quiche dish or pie pan.
  3. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced leeks and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped Swiss chard leaves and cook until wilted, about 3 minutes.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, grated Gruyere cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  7. Spread the cooked leeks and Swiss chard evenly over the pie crust.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and golden brown on top.
  10. Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
