Sweet and Sour Cabbage

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar - 1/4 cup
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Cabbage - 1 head, shredded

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and water.
  5. Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the cabbage mixture in the skillet.
  6. Stir well to coat the cabbage evenly with the sauce.
  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
