Sujebi

Sujebi is a traditional Korean soup made with hand-torn dough and various vegetables in a flavorful broth.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - To taste
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1, sliced
  • Potato - 1, diced
  • Zucchini - 1, sliced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 1 cup
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut it into small irregular pieces.
  4. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the sliced zucchini, potato, carrot, onion, and minced garlic. Cook for 10 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Add the hand-torn dough pieces to the pot and cook for another 10 minutes until the dough is cooked through.
  6. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot in bowls and enjoy!
