Rosquillas

Rosquillas are traditional Spanish doughnuts. They are typically enjoyed during breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • Powdered sugar - For dusting
  • Vegetable oil - For frying
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Anise seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Butter - 1/2 cup, melted
  • Eggs - 2
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, anise seeds, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  6. Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
