Peach Compote

This peach compote is a sweet and tangy fruit sauce made with fresh peaches, sugar, and lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Peaches - 6 medium, peeled, pitted, and sliced

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, water, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the peaches are soft and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let the compote cool slightly before serving.
  5. Serve warm or chilled over ice cream, pancakes, yogurt, or as a topping for desserts.
