Parmesan Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Creamy mashed potatoes with a delicious parmesan and garlic twist.

Ingredients

  • Chives - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Butter - 1/2 cup
  • Potatoes - 2 pounds, peeled and cubed

Instructions

  1. Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth.
  4. Pour the melted garlic butter, milk, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper into the pot with the mashed potatoes. Stir well to combine.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If the mashed potatoes are too thick, add more milk until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving dish and garnish with chopped chives.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
