Onion and Fennel Pizza

This delicious pizza is topped with caramelized onions, sliced fennel, and gooey cheese.

Ingredients

  • Fresh basil - Handful, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
  • Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Fennel bulb - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Pizza dough - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced onion and fennel, and cook until caramelized and softened, about 10 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  7. Spread the caramelized onion and fennel mixture evenly over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.
  11. Slice and serve hot.
