Mushroom and Onion Pizza

This delicious pizza is topped with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Fresh basil - Handful, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
  • Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
  • Pizza sauce - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Mushrooms - 8 ounces, sliced
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Pizza dough - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until the mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
  6. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  7. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  8. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  9. Top with the sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions.
  10. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the toppings.
  11. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.
  14. Slice and serve hot.
