Nashville Hot Chicken Mac and Cheese

A spicy and creamy combination of Nashville hot chicken and macaroni and cheese.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 cups, shredded
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • All - purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Macaroni - 2 cups, uncooked
  • Nashville hot sauce - 1/2 cup
  • Chicken breasts - 2, boneless and skinless

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the Nashville hot sauce over them. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  3. While the chicken is baking, cook the macaroni according to the package instructions.
  4. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until it forms a paste.
  5. Slowly whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Drain the macaroni and add it to the cheese sauce. Stir until the macaroni is fully coated.
  8. Shred the baked chicken and stir it into the macaroni and cheese.
  9. Serve the Nashville Hot Chicken Mac and Cheese hot.
