Nam Tok

Nam Tok is a traditional Thai salad made with grilled beef, herbs, and a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

  • Lettuce leaves - For serving
  • Green onions - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Thai chili peppers - 2, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Mint leaves - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Red onion - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
  • Roasted rice powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1/4 cup
  • Beef sirloin - 1 pound, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over high heat.
  2. Grill the beef slices for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, and roasted rice powder. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add the grilled beef slices to the dressing and toss to coat.
  5. Add red onion, mint leaves, cilantro, Thai chili peppers, and green onions to the bowl. Toss everything together.
  6. Serve the Nam Tok salad on a bed of lettuce leaves.
  7. Enjoy!
