Yum Talay

Yum Talay is a spicy and tangy Thai seafood salad made with a variety of fresh seafood and a flavorful dressing.

Ingredients

  • Roasted peanuts - 1/4 cup, crushed
  • Mint leaves - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, diced
  • Red onion - 1/4 cup, thinly sliced
  • Thai chili peppers - 2, thinly sliced
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1/4 cup
  • Mussels - 1/2 pound, cleaned
  • Scallops - 1/2 pound
  • Squid - 1/2 pound, cleaned and sliced
  • Shrimp - 1/2 pound, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the shrimp, squid, scallops, and mussels. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the seafood is cooked through. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and Thai chili peppers.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked seafood, red onion, tomato, cucumber, cilantro, and mint leaves.
  4. Pour the dressing over the seafood mixture and toss to combine.
  5. Garnish with crushed roasted peanuts.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
