Italian Sausage Sandwich

This Italian sausage sandwich is a delicious combination of grilled sausages, peppers, onions, and melted cheese, served on a toasted roll.

Ingredients

  • Hoagie rolls - 4
  • Provolone cheese - 4 slices
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1, sliced
  • Bell peppers - 2, sliced
  • Italian sausages - 4 links

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Grill the sausages until cooked through, about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced peppers and onions to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season the peppers and onions with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, without cutting all the way through.
  7. Place a slice of provolone cheese inside each roll.
  8. Place a grilled sausage on top of the cheese in each roll.
  9. Divide the cooked peppers and onions evenly among the sandwiches.
  10. Serve the Italian sausage sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
