Hummus

This classic hummus recipe is smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor. It's perfect as a dip or spread.

Ingredients

  • Fresh parsley - For garnish
  • Paprika - For garnish
  • Water - 2-4 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Tahini - 1/4 cup
  • Chickpeas - 1 can (15 ounces), drained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika and fresh parsley for garnish.
  6. Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers.
