Fig and Honey Glazed Figs with Prosciutto

This elegant appetizer combines the sweetness of figs with the savory flavor of prosciutto, all glazed with a drizzle of honey.

Ingredients

  • Fresh basil leaves - 8
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Prosciutto slices - 8
  • Fresh figs - 8

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut a small cross at the top of each fig, about halfway down.
  3. Wrap each fig with a slice of prosciutto and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Place the wrapped figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the honey and balsamic vinegar.
  6. Brush the honey mixture over the wrapped figs, making sure to coat them evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy and the figs are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish each glazed fig with a fresh basil leaf.
  10. Serve warm as an appetizer or as part of a charcuterie board.
