Fig and Bacon Jam Crostini

These delicious crostini are topped with a sweet and savory fig and bacon jam, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Goat cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Baguette - 1, sliced
  • Balsamic vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Red onion - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  • Bacon - 6 slices, cooked and crumbled
  • Fresh figs - 12

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the figs, bacon, red onion, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, until the figs are soft and the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Transfer to a food processor and pulse until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until lightly golden.
  5. Spread a layer of goat cheese on each toasted baguette slice.
  6. Top each crostini with a spoonful of the fig and bacon jam.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh thyme, salt, and pepper.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
