Chalupas

Chalupas are a delicious Mexican dish made with fried tortillas topped with various fillings and toppings.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Salsa - 1/2 cup
  • Sour cream - 1/2 cup
  • Cheese - 1 cup, shredded
  • Tomatoes - 2, diced
  • Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
  • Refried beans - 1 cup
  • Chicken breast - 2, cooked and shredded
  • Vegetable oil - 1 cup
  • Corn tortillas - 8

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Fry the corn tortillas one at a time until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate skillet, heat the refried beans until warm.
  4. Spread a layer of refried beans on each fried tortilla.
  5. Top with shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
