Cabbage and Onion Tart

This delicious cabbage and onion tart is made with a flaky pastry crust and a savory filling of caramelized onions and tender cabbage.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Milk - 1/4 cup
  • Eggs - 2
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Cabbage - 1 small head, thinly sliced
  • Puff pastry - 1 sheet, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place it in a tart pan. Trim any excess pastry.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the garlic and cabbage to the skillet and cook until the cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Spread the caramelized onion and cabbage mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and set.
  9. Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving. Cut into slices and enjoy!
