Barbecue Sauce

This homemade barbecue sauce is tangy, smoky, and perfect for grilling or dipping.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Liquid smoke - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar - 1/4 cup
  • Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ketchup - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, liquid smoke, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool before using.
  6. Store the barbecue sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
