Banh Mi Dog

A fusion of Vietnamese and American cuisine, the Banh Mi Dog features a hot dog in a baguette, topped with pickled vegetables, cilantro, and spicy mayo.

Ingredients

  • Sriracha - 1 tablespoon
  • Mayonnaise - 1/2 cup
  • Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • White vinegar - 1/2 cup
  • Cucumber - 1, julienned
  • Carrots - 2, julienned
  • Baguettes - 4, small
  • Hot dogs - 4

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the carrots, cucumber, vinegar, and sugar. Let it sit for 15 minutes to pickle the vegetables.
  2. Grill the hot dogs until they are cooked to your liking.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Sriracha to make a spicy mayo.
  4. Slice the baguettes lengthwise, but not all the way through.
  5. Spread the spicy mayo on the inside of the baguettes.
  6. Place a hot dog in each baguette.
  7. Top with the pickled vegetables and chopped cilantro.
