Banana Oatmeal

This delicious and nutritious banana oatmeal is a perfect breakfast option.

Ingredients

  • Optional toppings - Sliced banana, chopped nuts, or berries
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Rolled oats - 1 cup
  • Banana - 1, ripe

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mash the ripe banana with a fork.
  2. Add the rolled oats, milk, water, honey, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan.
  3. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the oats are cooked and the mixture thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Serve the banana oatmeal in bowls and top with sliced banana, chopped nuts, or berries if desired.
