Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1/4 cup
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 cups, shredded
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • All - purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Macaroni - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, then bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted and smooth.
