Baked Mac and Cheese

A classic, creamy and cheesy dish that's perfect for a comfort meal.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
  • Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 cups, shredded
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • All - purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 1/4 cup
  • Macaroni - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then add the cooked macaroni and stir until well coated.
  7. Pour the macaroni mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the macaroni.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
