This traditional Argentine Asado is a delicious feast of grilled meats, served with flavorful chimichurri sauce and accompanied by grilled portobello mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • Chimichurri sauce - For serving
  • Portobello mushrooms - 6 large
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - To taste
  • Salt - To taste
  • Sausages (chorizo) - 6 links
  • Flank steak - 2 pounds
  • Beef short ribs - 3 pounds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the grill for indirect grilling over medium heat.
  2. Season the beef short ribs and flank steak with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the seasoned meats on the grill, away from direct heat, and cook for about 30 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. While the meats are grilling, brush the portobello mushrooms with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Grill the portobello mushrooms for about 5 minutes per side, or until tender.
  6. Remove the meats and mushrooms from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Slice the meats and serve with the grilled portobello mushrooms and chimichurri sauce.
