West Coast Oysters
Fresh oysters served with a tangy mignonette sauce. Perfect for a light appetizer or a seafood feast.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon - 1, cut into wedges
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Shallot - 1, minced
- Red wine vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Fresh oysters - 12, shucked
Let's Get Started
- Clean the oysters under cold running water. Shuck the oysters and place them on a bed of crushed ice or rock salt.
- In a small bowl, combine the red wine vinegar, minced shallot, and black pepper. This is your mignonette sauce.
- Serve the oysters with the mignonette sauce and lemon wedges on the side.
- To eat, spoon a little mignonette sauce onto each oyster and squeeze a little lemon juice over it. Enjoy!
