Tofu Katsu
Crispy, golden brown tofu cutlets that are perfect for a light meal or as a snack.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Panko breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Firm tofu - 1 block
Let's Get Started
- Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture.
- Slice the tofu into 1/2-inch thick cutlets.
- Season the tofu with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each tofu cutlet in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the tofu cutlets until they are golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Drain the tofu cutlets on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the tofu katsu with your favorite dipping sauce.
