Tereré is a traditional Paraguayan cold drink made with yerba mate. It's refreshing and perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sugar - To taste
- Lime - 1, sliced
- Fresh mint leaves - A handful
- Ice - 2 cups
- Cold water - 1 liter
- Yerba mate - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Place the yerba mate in a jug or pitcher.
- Add the fresh mint leaves and lime slices.
- Pour the cold water into the pitcher, making sure all the yerba mate is soaked.
- Add the ice and sugar to taste.
- Stir well and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve in glasses with more ice if desired.
