Tarte À La Tomate
A classic French tart made with fresh tomatoes, mustard, and a buttery crust.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh basil - A handful, chopped
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tomatoes - 4 large, sliced
- Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Pie crust - 1
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a tart pan. Prick the bottom with a fork.
- Spread the mustard evenly over the bottom of the crust.
- Arrange the tomato slices on top of the mustard.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the tomatoes are soft.
- Sprinkle the chopped basil over the tart before serving.
