Sticky Rice with Sausage

Sticky Rice with Sausage

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a large pot, add the sticky rice and enough water to cover it. Let it soak for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. After soaking, drain the rice and transfer it to a steamer basket. Steam the rice for about 20 minutes, or until it becomes sticky and tender.
  4. While the rice is steaming, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir to coat the sausage and aromatics.
  8. Add the steamed sticky rice to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined.
  9. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the rice is heated through.
  10. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  11. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
