Ingredients - Serves 4
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 4, chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sausage - 8 ounces, sliced
- Sticky rice - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
- In a large pot, add the sticky rice and enough water to cover it. Let it soak for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- After soaking, drain the rice and transfer it to a steamer basket. Steam the rice for about 20 minutes, or until it becomes sticky and tender.
- While the rice is steaming, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir to coat the sausage and aromatics.
- Add the steamed sticky rice to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the rice is heated through.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
