Spiced Venison Jerky
This homemade spiced venison jerky is a flavorful and healthy snack for all meat-lovers.
Ingredients - Serves 10
- Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1/4 cup
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 cup
- Soy sauce - 1 cup
- Venison - 2 pounds, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, liquid smoke, and cayenne pepper.
- Add the venison slices to the bowl and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C). Place a wire rack on a large baking sheet.
- Remove the venison from the marinade and arrange the slices on the wire rack. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm but still chewy. Let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
