Shepherd's Pie
A traditional British dish, Shepherd's Pie is a hearty and comforting meal made with ground lamb, vegetables, and a crust of creamy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Peas - 1 cup, frozen
- Carrots - 2, peeled and diced
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Ground lamb - 1 pound
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Butter - 1/4 cup
- Potatoes - 4 large, peeled and cubed
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash with the butter and milk. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground lamb until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the onion and carrots until tender. Add the peas, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cooked lamb. Season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the lamb mixture to a baking dish and top with the mashed potatoes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and the pie is heated through.
