This is a traditional Shanghai-style dish made with thick wheat noodles, stir-fried with vegetables and a savory sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Thick wheat noodles - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the bell peppers and onion and stir-fry until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Serve hot.
