Salsa Roja

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, or until the skins start to peel.
  2. Remove the tomatoes from the boiling water and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to cool. Once cooled, peel off the skins and discard.
  3. In a blender or food processor, combine the peeled tomatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and cumin. Blend until smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  5. Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
