Salmon Chowder
This creamy and flavorful salmon chowder is made with fresh salmon, vegetables, and herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Milk - 2 cups
- Chicken broth - 4 cups
- All-purpose flour - 3 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Potato - 2 medium, peeled and diced
- Carrot - 2 medium, diced
- Celery - 2 stalks, diced
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Salmon fillets - 1 pound, skinless and boneless, cut into chunks
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onion, celery, carrot, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the diced potatoes and simmer until they are tender, about 10 minutes.
- Add the salmon chunks and cook for 5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
- Stir in the fresh dill and season with salt and pepper.
