Roti Prata
Roti Prata is a popular Indian flatbread that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is commonly served with curry or as a breakfast dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- Gradually add water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into small balls and let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll out each ball into a thin circle.
- Brush the surface of the dough with vegetable oil.
- Fold the dough in half, then fold it again to form a triangle shape.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place the folded dough on it.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
- Serve hot with curry or your favorite dipping sauce.
