Let's Get Started

  1. Prepare the sponge cake according to the recipe instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. Slice the sponge cake horizontally into three equal layers.
  3. Spread raspberry jam on the bottom layer of the cake.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the pastry cream with a few drops of green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
  5. Spread a layer of green pastry cream on top of the raspberry jam.
  6. Place the second layer of sponge cake on top of the green pastry cream.
  7. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the second layer of sponge cake.
  8. Place the final layer of sponge cake on top.
  9. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream, including the sides.
  10. Roll out the marzipan into a thin, large circle.
  11. Carefully drape the marzipan over the cake, smoothing it out and trimming any excess.
  12. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
  13. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  14. Slice and enjoy!
