Potato Gratin with Gruyere
This creamy, cheesy Potato Gratin with Gruyere is the perfect side dish for any meal, and is surprisingly easy to make.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Gruyere cheese - 1.5 cups, grated
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Milk - 1 cup
- Heavy cream - 1 cup
- Potatoes - 2 pounds, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the potatoes to the saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes, until slightly softened.
- Transfer half of the potatoes to a baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the Gruyere cheese over the potatoes.
- Add the remaining potatoes to the baking dish, and top with the remaining cheese.
- Pour any remaining cream mixture from the saucepan over the potatoes.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
