Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Fold in the plums.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
