Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the topping. In a large pan, cook the ground beef, onion, bell peppers, and tomatoes over medium heat until the beef is browned and the vegetables are soft. Season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the risen dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly over each piece of dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Bake the pides in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the topping is bubbly.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the hot pides before serving.
